2008-2009 Copywriting Manager, Weekly Ad (Circular), Target Corp.

Managed in-house and freelance copywriters in the creation of compelling product and enterprise messages in Target’s weekly print ad (inserted into 51 million Sunday papers nationwide). Translated strategic marketing plan into hard-hitting and creatively distinctive weekly ad copy. Worked with in-house creative managers and freelance art directors to conceptualize and create major circular-related projects including front covers, dedicated pages, and 4-page pop-ups (mini ads within the weekly circular). Presented special projects and weekly proofs to senior management across all business categories. Built relationships with Target business partners to ensure campaigns achieved business goals.

2007-2008 Senior Copywriter/Interactive Creative Captain, Target Corp.

Provided creative direction to, and managed relationships with, interactive design agencies in development and execution of online creative campaigns for beauty, style and design anthem (branding) areas, among others. Managed translation of related offline campaigns into compelling online creative executions. Presented online campaigns to senior management. 2005-2007 Lead Copywriter, Target.com, Target Corp.

Lead copywriter in Target.com’s interactive Creative Studio working on special projects (e.g., Red Hot Shop online trend boutique and Dove/Pantene vendor placement programs); weekly refreshes (category and super-cat pages) for apparel, accessories, beauty, jewelry, shoes and more); conceptualizing and writing special online boutiques for Licensing programs (Transformers, SpeedRacer, Sonia Kashuk and more); and writing product copy across all categories, from sporting goods and home to beauty and apparel. Worked with Target.com managers and creative teams to improve creative processes.

Directed in-house staff of art directors and copywriters plus outside vendors and freelancers in the creation of award-winning financial services marketing campaigns, corporate branding/identity programs, sales promotion programs and development of first-ever web site for ReliaStar Financial Corporation’s life insurance and broker/dealer subsidiaries. Developed and implemented direct response/lead generation programs. Conducted market research surveys and focus groups. Managed department operating and printing/production budgets.
